About 4-H Curriculum

Curriculum refers to all the planned educational experiences that a youth would be involved in within an area of study or "project".

Florida 4-H Publications

County Extension Offices provide a variety of 4-H publications to support 4-H programs. Types of materials available to support programs include:

• Member "Project Books"

  These are the youth manuals or workbooks that direct youth through a subject matter topic at their own pace.

• Recordkeeping of project work may be done in a separate companion booklet to the Project Book or incorporated into the Project Book itself.

• Volunteer Project Leader/Helper Guides

  These companion materials to the Member "Project Books" are developed to support the youth, individually or in groups, with their project learning experiences.

Supplemental Materials

A variety of other educational materials are available to support youth education through the 4-H program. These include:

• videos
• brochures
• skill-a-thon kits

General 4-H Volunteer Materials

A variety of leader support materials are provided to help volunteers.

• 4-H Club Materials

A variety of support materials are available from your local county office to support organizing 4-H Clubs. Many of these materials may be county specific.
