Joe and Leslie Allen

Joe and Leslie Allen were county and club 4-H Volunteers in Duval County who walked the extra mile for Florida 4-H. Their oldest son was killed in an auto accident when returning home from a state officer retreat. In honor of their son and their belief in 4-H, Joe and Leslie Allen volunteered their time as advisors for the State 4-H Council for several years.

They also established a fund in the Florida 4-H Foundation recognizing selected State 4-H Legislature participants for outstanding achievement.

Joe Allen was outspoken and readily shared his ideas with members. He demonstrated his commitment to 4-H youth through his role as a volunteer. After his death Leslie Allen continued to volunteer time to 4-H youth, especially State 4-H Legislature Events. Both Leslie and Joe Allen made a lasting impact on the Florida 4-H Legislature program and the State 4-H Council Officers.
