Isaac Chandler Jr.
Isaac Chandler Jr. had a major impact on thousands of youth and
community members in Hamilton County throughout his 35-year tenure
as a 4-H agent.
Many of his 4-Hers, who came from humble backgrounds, went on to shining futures as doctors, professors and lawyers.
Mr. Chandler is a community leader who has gone beyond the call of duty volunteering and leading civic organizations in Hamilton County. He started as the agriculture and 4-H agent working with boys’ clubs on corn and swine projects.
In 1953 he started organizing school and community clubs for boys. During his tenure, he had many youth attend State 4-H Congress, National 4-H Congress, National 4-H Conference, Florida 4-H Legislature and Citizenship Washington Focus. He closed out his career by witnessing his son’s election as State 4-H Council Vice President. Chandler has also served on the Hamilton County Schools Advisory Committee, as Chairman of the Hamilton County Democratic Executive Committee, and is a former longtime member of the City of Jasper Council.
