Consumer Education (Group Projects)
In the 4-H Consumer Education Group Projects, you will learn:
- how to process information to make the best economical choices for a given situation;
- how to comparison shop by price, product quality, or store/manufactuer;
- how to use skills or improved practices related to financial literacy and money management;
- the rights and responsibilties of consumers;
- how to effectively communicate with others;
- skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, planning and organizing, and responsibility.
IT ALL ADDS UP (For Youth Ages 12-18)
This curriculum-based publication engages teens in the discovery of sound principles of money management, as well as learning public speaking skills, career awareness, leadership and the use of technology to obtain and communicate information. Includes units on: How to complain effectively, understanding what's behind advertising messages, shopping at home using a catalog, TV or the Internet, comparing products and prices to make the best purchase, saving and investing money, using a checking account, and getting and using credit. More than 100 copy-able activity sheets help make this program easy and efficient for educators or parents to use. Produced by Cornell 4-H.
