Entomology (Group Project)

In the 4-H Entomology Group Project, you will learn:

  • about ecological systems;
  • about biological principles of living organisms; and
  • skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, self-responsibility, planning and organizing, and improving your knowledge of general science and technology.

ABCs of Entomology (For Youth Ages 8-13)

The ABC’s of Entomology seeks to provide youth with a basic knowledge and understanding of insects and their natural history, to increase awareness and appreciation of insects and the complex roles they have in nature, to stimulate critical and creative thinking, to provide experiences for youth to learn and apply scientific principles, and to provide opportunities for youth to develop valuable life skills. Protective Coloration as an Adaptation for Survival
This Florida 4-H Environmental Education Activity, grades 2-10, teaches 4-H'ers the basic concepts of: individuals and populations, mutations, camouflage, natural selection, morphological adaptations, evolution, and prey and predator relationships. Special activities and concepts are included in this project for grades 8-10.
