Human Development (Group Projects)

In the 4-H Human Development Group Projects, you will learn:

  • how to process information to make effective decisions and positive choices;
  • how to effectively communicate with others;
  • to develop and maintain positive relationships with others;
  • to demonstrate knowledge/skills or improved practices for personal safety; and
  • skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, planning and organizing, and responsibility.

CHOICES Series (For Youth Ages 12-18)

This experiential curriculum is designed to help pregnant and parenting teens chart a more positive future. There are four basic units with several subsections: Focus on Teens, Nutrition, Resource Management and Parenting. Videos serve to support and enhance the curriculum. Video topics include: Shaping Up! Aerobics for Pregnant Teens, Look Who's Eating, Growing Up With Baby, and Speak Out! On Stress. Produced by Florida 4-H.

TALKING WITH TJ Series (For Youth Ages 8-10)

Teamwork (Ages 8-10)

This Leader's Kit was developed in cooperation with the Hallmark Corporate Foundation, National 4-H Council, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Girls Scouts of the U.S.A. Through the program, children learn important social skills of planning, cooperating, and appreciating differences. The program encourages children to work and play together in more caring and cooperative ways.  Materials include video segments for children, camera ready masters for program promotion and lesson handouts, video segments and guides for program leaders, and information for parents. Conflict Resolution (Ages 8-10)

This Leader's Kit was developed in cooperation with the Hallmark Corporate Foundation, National 4-H Council, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Girls Scouts of the U.S.A. Participants learn and practice skills for making group plans, appreciating differences and including people, and playing as a cooperative team.  Three video segments form the basis for 6 sessions of under one hour each. Children view and analyze video vignettes of common interpersonal situations. They generate and practice alternative solutions to each situation. Materials include video segments and printed color comics for children, camera ready masters for program promotion and lesson handouts, video segments and guides for program leaders, and information for parents. Produced by Florida 4-H.
